Short term health insurances are health insurance plans with a limited duration, typically several months to a year. These plans provide health insurance coverage during transitional periods. These plans are for those who are unable to apply for Affordable Care Act coverage or missed open enrollment and do not qualify for special enrollment or waiting for ACA coverage or looking for coverage to bridge to Medicare, those who are healthy and under 65, between jobs or waiting for benefits to begin at the new job, turning 26 and coming off their parent’s insurance.
